Questions & Answers
What kind of extensions should I choose? Synthetic, Silk or Mink?
Those single-strand eyelashes are made of synthetic polyester. They have the least possible chance of allergic reactions with human skin. These lashes last up to 4 weeks.
Made of synthetic silk the are the more light weight extensions. A little curvier they are very soft to the touch. They last up to 4 weeks.
Mink lashes are the most natural extensions you can get. Misencil mink lashes are made of a hypoallergenic fibre that feels as soft as real fur. They last longer than synthetic or silk for the simple fact that being a natural fibre, they stick better to your own natural lashes. They last up to 6 weeks.
What should I do before my appointment?
Please come without any eye makeup. If you wear contact lenses, kindly remove them prior your appointment or bring a lens case and remove them when you arrive.
How is it done?
You will be asked to lie down with your eyes closed. I will then place cooling anti-wrinkle Gel eye pads under your eyes. I will also apply medical grade paper tape to help secure your lower lashes to ensure no glue will be transfered from the upper to the lower lashes.
Will they damage my natural lashes?
Be assured that your own lashes will not me damaged. Each extensions is applied to one single natural lash with a special adhesive that is exclusively reserved for lash extension. They will grow out naturally as your own lash matures.
How long does it take to apply extensions and how long will they last?
For a complete application, it usually takes about 1.5 hours. After 3 weeks a touch-up will take up to 1 hour.
Lashes fall every 60 to 90 days and new ones constantly grow. That's why it is necessary to do a touch-up to maintain the desired density.
What should I do after my appointment?
To keep your eyelash extensions looking good as long as possible it is important to follow these recommendations:
for the 24 first hours:
- do not swim or use a sauna or hot tub
- don't do hot yoga
- do not rub or pull your lashes
- avoid mascara
- when showering avoid facing the shower head
- avoid sleeping on your face
How do I take care of my lashes?
Your new lashes are long, thick and gorgeous! They need minimal care and will easily adapt to your lifestyle. They resist to water, perspiration and tears. You can swim, shower and do sports with no worries. Do not use oil based products, lotions and waterproof mascaras. These products will cause the adhesive to weaken.
Can I use a lash curler with my extensions?
The traditional, mechanical eyelash curler should not be used, it will damage and break the lash bonds.
Misencil & Sugarlash eyelash extensions are pre-curled and they retain their curl throughout their life.
Can I remove my extensions by myself?
If you try to remove your extensions without the proper adhesive remover, you will probably pull out your own natural lashes! To ensure that your natural lashes won't be damaged I strongly recommend to have a certified eyelash extensions technician remove them.
- Avoid using oil-based products on or near your eyes
- never use waterproof mascara
- brush your lashes every day to separate your lashes
- apply Misencil® revitalizer to nourish and fortify your lashes
I would appreciate 24 hours notice for any cancellation or rescheduling
